Sortwise is a TIVEXA game, developed and published by 2852483 Alberta Inc., Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, email admin.tivexa@protonmail.com.
We (2852483 Alberta Inc.) do not collect personal information. Sortwise has no account or sign-in, no analytics, no in-app purchases, and we operate no server for it. Your game progress stays on your device.
Sortwise shows ads provided by Google AdMob, which collects some data when ads are requested and shown (see Ads):
The game is fully playable without watching any ad. Versions before 1.2.0 contain no ads; version 1.2.0 contains only the optional rewarded ads.
To remember your progress, Sortwise stores the following in its own private storage on your device:
This is kept in the app's private storage (its web storage and a private Android settings file), which other apps cannot read. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling Sortwise or by clearing its storage in your device settings (Settings > Apps > Sortwise > Storage > Clear storage). Deleting it resets your progress.
We do not collect or access your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos or files, camera or microphone. Sortwise contains no analytics or tracking software of its own. The only third-party software that can collect data is Google's advertising and consent software described below (version 1.2.0 and later).
Which ads. Version 1.3.2 and later: a banner at the bottom of the menu screens only - the chapter list, chapter screens and How to play; it is never shown during a puzzle level, during the tutorial, or over Google's consent form. (Test versions 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 could also show it on a level where it fitted without making the game smaller.) Version 1.2.0 and later: a rewarded ad, requested only when you tap "Watch an ad to earn 1 hint" on a level whose free hints are used up. There are no ads between levels, no full-screen ads you did not ask for, and no in-app purchases.
When Google's advertising software runs. In version 1.2.0 it starts only when you ask for a rewarded ad. In version 1.3.0 and later it also starts to load the banner once your consent choices (where required) allow ads; from version 1.3.2 only on a menu screen (usually the chapter list), never during the tutorial or a puzzle.
Who. Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, depending on your region). When an ad is requested and shown, Google's software collects and shares, for advertising, measurement (analytics) and fraud prevention:
Google's software encrypts this data in transit. How Google uses it is explained in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. Depending on the consent choices you make, Google and its advertising partners may show you personalized or non-personalized ads. We set Google's ad content limit to a teen rating, because Sortwise is meant for players aged 13 and over.
Consent and your choices. Sortwise uses Google's consent software (the User Messaging Platform). Each time the app starts, it asks Google whether consent is needed in your region; this request goes to Google. Where the law requires your consent (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), Google's consent form is shown before any ad is requested: in version 1.3.0 and later when you first reach the chapter list (never during the tutorial), in version 1.2.0 the first time you ask for an ad. You can change your choices at any time with "Privacy choices" in How to play, where your region requires it. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. If you decline, or no ad is available (for example offline), you simply see no banner and don't get the extra hint; nothing else in the game changes.
What we receive. We do not receive your advertising ID or other identifiers from these ads. We receive aggregated reports from Google about ad performance (for example how many ads were shown and the resulting earnings); they do not identify you.
Sortwise's own game code does not send or receive data over the internet, and the game plays fully offline. The app includes Android's Internet permission and, from version 1.2.0, the permissions Google's advertising software requires: network state, advertising ID, basic phone state (for example the type of network connection; it does not give access to your phone number or calls), and wake lock and foreground service for its background tasks. These are granted when the app is installed and do not give access to your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or precise location. The How to play screen contains a link to this policy and an email link for support; if you tap one, it opens in your own browser or email app, outside Sortwise, and that app's own privacy terms apply.
If you have turned on backup on your Android device, Android may include Sortwise's stored progress in your own device backup (for example, your Google account backup) and restore it when you set up a new device. Backups are made and stored by Android and your backup provider under their own terms. We cannot access them.
Sortwise is distributed through Google Play. When you download or update it, Google processes information such as your Google account and device details under the Google Privacy Policy; this is Google's processing, not ours. If you have allowed your device to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google may give us crash and performance statistics for Sortwise in the Google Play Console. We use them only to find and fix problems, and they do not include your name or contact details.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you report. We do not sell it or share it with anyone, apart from our email provider, which stores our mailbox. We keep support emails only as long as needed to handle your request, and you can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Sortwise is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your progress never leaves your device through the game itself. It is protected by Android's app sandbox, which keeps it private to Sortwise. Data collected by Google's advertising software is handled by Google as described above.
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not use cookies, analytics or tracking on it. GitHub, as the host, may process technical information such as your IP address in its server logs under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
If Sortwise's data practices change, for example if a future version added advertising or purchases, we will update this policy before releasing that version and show the new effective date at the top of this page.
